The Club, today
The Old Actonians Cricket Club, considered by many to be one of the best venues in West London, run 3 sides on Saturdays and Sunday games too. It has a well established reputation for being a very friendly club that plays both good competitive league cricket on Saturdays and more relaxed but good standard games on Sundays. The second and third XI Saturday sides play in the 3rd Division of the Middlesex County League. Unfortunately, the first XI were relegated recently, but are hopeful of a quick return to the Middlesex County League from the Middlesex Championship.

The Colts section is one of the best organised and very much respected in the west of London with over 100 youngsters attending coaching each Sunday morning in the 6 artificial grass nets. They compete in cup and leagues at under 17, under 15, under 13 and under 11 levels. A number of the colts are representing the county at their respective age group. |
Outdoor nets are held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings during the season, and indoor winter nets between January and April at Lords. |

Old Actonians Cricket Club History
Old Actonians Cricket Club can trace its roots back to 1922 and is well established as one of the most respected clubs in Middlesex. In 1964 the club merged with the Old Actonians Football Club and OA's Association and took up residence in Gunnersbury Drive at what is now the present sports complex. Since then the Sports Association has steadily grown to incorporate rugby, tennis, squash, netball, cycling and other clubs with a total current membership of approximately 1000 people, providing top quality, all year round sporting facilities to the people of Acton and Ealing.
|
The Cricket Club functions independently, but under the auspices of the Association and is comprised of 3 high standard senior teams playing premier cricket in Middlesex leagues. The Club is coached and captained by Alvin Kallicharran, the former West Indian Test cricketer. Our Colts Cricket section is one of the strongest in West London and is comprised of more than 120 boys and girls between the ages of 7 and 17 playing in 6 Middlesex Colts League age divisions. |
Our cricketers young and old enjoy what is one of the better playing venues in Middlesex and West London and work hard every year to both maintain and improve the facilities to match. We also value the history and traditions of Old Actonians whilst promoting a relaxed atmosphere which attracts the highest quality of players from every background, and therefore reflects the character of the borough. |
